I haven’t been reading much on peacebuilding since I finished my own textbook. Then, I learned about Matt Legge’s book and changed my reading habits. I’m glad I did.
This book focuses on treating violence as the equivalent of an epidemic that plagues our society. As such, it distinguishes between conflict and the ways we deal with it. Legge works his way through an amazing amount of psychological literature, which I can’t do justice to here. On tap of that, the book is filled with practical suggestions for how we as individuals and we as professional peacebuilders can turn the ideas he writes about into reality. A must read for anyone interested in peace.
